Peoples Security Bank & Trust Company (PSBT) of Scranton, PA, has announced executive appointments for its first New Jersey state business center, due to open publicly in Piscataway in October 2021.
John J. Pagano, Senior Vice President, New Jersey Market Manager
Pagano strengthens the team with over 27 years of banking experience specifically in the commercial real estate market, including the multi-family sector, MHPs, grocery retail, credit-linked retail, self-storage, industrial and medical practices. In addition to his competent management skills in leading high-performance teams, Pagano has proven, concentrated experience in portfolio management and customer loyalty. In his leadership role, Pagano will make a significant contribution to maintaining the brand’s externally visible presence on the market. As Designated Chief Executive, his position also includes proactively building long-term relationships with business owners and customers across the region.
Prior to joining Peoples Security Bank & Trust, Pagano was Vice President / Relationship Manager at Lakeland Bank in Waldwick, where he was responsible for the issuance, structuring and negotiation of commercial real estate loans in South Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania and Northern. Delaware was responsible. He was previously the Vice President of Oritani Bank in Cherry Hill, where during his tenure he structured and negotiated commercial real estate loans in the same geographic area. Previously, Pagano was vice president of Columbia Bank in Voorhees, responsible for commercial real estate development and construction loans while building and overseeing relationships in South Jersey and the Philadelphia Metro region. Pagano also held senior commercial lending positions at Amboy National Bank in Old Bridge and the former United Jersey Bank (Summit Bank) in Princeton.
Pagano earned an Associate of Science in Law Enforcement from Mercer County Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rider University. He also received a Certificate in Banking from the American Institute of Banking. A dedicated civic leader and passionate community volunteer, Pagano is a recognized member of the Mortgage Bankers Association. Vice-Chairman and member of Class IV of the Florence Municipality Planning Committee, he is also an active member of the Florence Municipality Environment Commission and the Florence Mayor’s Task Force on Affordable Housing. He is involved as a subcommittee member of the former Roebling Steel Site Rezoning Committee, as deputy junior master and cave leader for Roebling / Florence Pack 3, as deputy scoutmaster for Roebling / Florence Troop 3 and as fundraising chairman for the Roebling Pack 3 committee. In addition, he is also a BSA certified Merit Badge Counselor for the Garden State Council. Pagano is a resident of Florence.
Thomas G. Guinan, Senior Vice President, Senior Commercial Lender
Guinan joins the team with over three decades of experience managing complex portfolios in the commercial mortgage, construction and home loan sectors. Throughout his career, Guinan has excelled in developing precise financial solutions to drive substantial portfolio management growth for a variety of clients across the Tri-State as well as Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware. In his new executive role, Guinan will be responsible for developing new commercial business activities in the form of credit, advisory and treasury services for the regional market.
Before joining Peoples Security Bank & Trust, Guinan was most recently Vice President and Relationship Manager at Lakeland Bank in Waldwick. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Office at ConnectOneBank in Englewood Cliffs. His work experience also included serving as Executive President, Chief Lending Officer at Oritani Bank in the Township of Washington and Senior Vice President – Commercial Lending Officer at Columbia Bank in Fair Lawn.
Guinan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In his spare time he enjoys serving as a public member of the Bergen County Bar Ethics Committee, trustee of the Bergen County Bar Foundation, and trustee of Hackensack Golf Club. Guinan is a resident of Wyckoff.
